The most effective way to increase friction is to add sharp edges to the ratchet sheave, but this quickly deteriorates and wears away the rope. After working alongside leading rope manufacturers, the Allen design team developed a simple solution that improves grip without damaging your expensive rope.

The Wave Sheave features an offset V-style grip, made from hard-wearing recycled nylon, without the sharp edges that can wear into the line. By slightly offsetting the V formation within the sheave, the ratchet grips the line at additional points around the sheave, resulting in significantly greater holding power.

The Wave Sheave not only improves grip but also provides a smoother, less "jumpy" feel when easing sheets.

Wave Sheave

The Wave Sheave offers 20% to 40%* more grip without adding any additional wear to the rope. For maximum performance, we recommend pairing this ratchet block with 7mm Excel Marstron Plus.

Switchable

In the middle of the block is a switch that can be used, even under load, to turn the ratchet mechanism on or off, giving you more control and feel of your control system.

Swivel Lock

The swivel can be locked in 90-degree orientations via the small black swivel lock at the top of the block. Alternatively, the swivel can be set to spin freely.

Tii-Holes

The centre of the block features four holes to reduce weight, as well as provide options for tying elastic or rope through.

This item is not covered under warranty if used in conjunction with a winch.
