Description
V Cleat Halyard Lock
This is a slight variation on the standard V cleat and is typically used with mainsail halyard systems on dinghies.
This V cleat halyard is typically installed onto a mast with the rope coming out of the mast and through the V cleat.
Installed on the halyard would be a knot of swaged ball that is at the correct position for the halyard when the mainsail is hoisted to 100%. The knot or ball is then pulled into the V profile and the halyard is released. This creates a halyard locking mechanism which is safe and secure even under load.
To lower the mainsail the halyard is simply pulled down and the knot or ball out of the V profile.
This V Cleat Halyard lock is suitable for rope/ wire diameters from 2mm to 6mm.
