RS Aero’s also benefit from being a simple and easy to rig boat, but if you’re wondering what part you need, then look no further as we have most of the fittings available.
Mainsheet
Ratchet Block – A2160Wave / A2360Wave / A2160 / A2360 – Any of our 60mm ratchet blocks make a great choice for the RS Aero ratchet block. The four different options allow you to choose which ever block suits your sailing style. See the “More Grip, Less Slip” article to help you choose the correct ratchet block.
Boom Blocks – A2040Tii x 2 & Tii-LOCK-40 x 2 – using the existing dyneema loops you can attach two 40mm Tii-on block by using our new Tii-Lock-40.
Traveller Blocks – A2030-40 – 30mm and 40mm dynamic blocks coupled back to back with the smaller block used for the traveller line and the 40mm block used for the mainsheet. The mainsheet is dead ended through the hole in the 40mm block.
Vang System
Mast Vang Block – A2040B / A2040 – For the 40mm block that is used at the base of the mast for the Vang system you can use either our A2040B which has a removable strap, so no shackle is needed, or you can choose the standard A2040 and use a shackle to attached the block to the rope loop at the base of the mast.
Lower Vang Block – A2030 / A2030Tii – The Tii on block is preferred for a tidier spliced finish.
Boom Vang Blocks – A2020 / A2020HL / A4668 – We have 3 options for the Vang blocks which hang from the boom. You will need two of these blocks for the system. The central rivet in the A2020 can be used as a tying off point for one of the blocks. Alternatively if you are using a larger diameter rope you could use the A4668 which features a tying off becket. Read our “which block should i choose” guide to help you choose between high load and standard dynamic blocks.
Double Vang Block – A2022 / A2022Tii – 20mm double block used in the cascade. The Tii on block is preferred for a tidier spliced finish.
Deck Mounted Vang Block – A2020 / A2020Tii – The Tii on block is preferred for a tidier spliced finish.
Vang Cleat – A4866XB-ANGLED / A4867 / A4866XB – These are just some of our suggestions that could be used as the Aero Vang cleat. The A4866XB-ANGLED will offer the biggest reduction in friction thanks to its ball bearing sheaves which guide the rope.
